EASY SUMMER FLOWER NAILS

Hey guys, a really quick post from me today before I head off to bed. I can't remember if I saw this design on instagram and where, when my brain is working I will check!
Ok so I love yellow for summer and Essie Shorty Pants is my favourite yellow ever! I started off with 3 coats and used OPI Alpine Snow and a dotting tool to make the flowers, then I added a gold circle glequin in the centre of each flower. Unfortunately when the white flowers dried they ended up looking yellow :(

Ok, so that's it for now, I shall see you tomorrow hopefully :)

CHINA GLAZE OFF SHORE COLLECTION SWATCHES & REVIEW

Hey guys, I hope your all having a lovely weekend, it's a bank holiday here in the UK which means 3 day weekend \o/ Yaay!
So today I have an exciting post for you. Recently I ordered some of the China Glaze Off Shore collection from Nail Polish Direct and received them mid week, unfortunately the bottle of I Sea The Point had broken in transit and ruined my bottles of Shore Enuff and Stroked To Be Soaked. They did send me replacements so I had to swatch these quickly because honestly I've not had any time this week to do anything!
I chose 6 colours from the collection and I shall share my thoughts etc below, so click on to see the swatches and read my review :)

SWARM OF BEES

Hey guys, how are you? I'm so happy it's Friday, it feels like it's been a really long day!
So when I got Illamasqua Swarm this idea popped into my head and it's only recently I got round to trying it out!
I did 2 coats of Color Club Almost Famous on all the nails except the middle finger where I applied Kiko 340. I then used one medium coat of Swarm on all the nails except the middle finger where I used acrylic paint to paint on a beehive and used Swarm for 'bees'
This just screams summer to me :)

NEON POPTASTIC GRADIENT

Hey guys, how are you all? I'm really tired today, I had an 8am start at uni today which meant I had to get up at 5am, then when I finished at uni I had to go to work and now I'm really tired, I think I'm going to go to bed!

Oh and just for a bit of randomness, how many of you like the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte? I tried it for the first time today and I think it's horrible! The first few sips were ok but then it was just making me feel really sick, I know loads of people love it so am I just weird or is there anyone else out there who feels the same way?

Ok so enough of that, let's talk nails. I know it's freezing outside and summer said it's bye byes but this mani is an eye searingly bright neon sunset gradient using the Color Club Poptastic collection.
I used Almost Famous (yellow), Wham! Pow! (orange) and Warhol (pink) and a makeup sponge. These nails were really bright and unfortunately my camera blended the orange and pink together so you can't really see the pink at the tips in the pictures but trust me it's there and you can see it in real life!
I added Tonight's Gonna Be A Good Night by Wet n Wild over the top!

Ok, so that's enough for today I'll see you all later :)

NEON ONE STROKE FLOWER BRANCH NAILS

It's too hot and I'm not a fan of it! Since it's summer though I thought I'd better use some neon and I still wanted to try out different one stroke techniques, so I came up with this. I used 2 coats of China Glaze Flirty Tankini and then used black acrlylic paint for the branches and blue and white acrylic paint for the blossoming flower buds, before topcoating the whole design

It's not perfect but I still quite like it, China Glazes Summer 2012 neons were gorgeous, speaking of which I am so disappointed with this years China Glaze Summer Neons, I mean the colours look lovely but the formulas seem to be pretty poor and I can't be bothered with tricky neon application, have you guys tried them? Let me know what you think of them

CHANEL TABOO

It looks like summer might actually be here ! It's hot outside : o but inside our house is lovely and cool : )
What's the weather like where you are?
Anywho sometimes a nail polish comes along which is so awesome that it has to be swatched, photographed, edit and posted asap! This was definitely the case with Chanel Taboo! I have a really long line of posts and this one just skipped the queue.
I didn't know if I should get this but then I woke up on Wednesday morning and decided I needed it! I picked mine up from Harvery Nichols but Taboo is available from lots of other department stores which have a Chanel counter.
Anyway this is one of the limited edition summer polishes released by Chanel. It's such a gorgeous polish, I'm not even going to attempt describing it because there's so much going on, I think the photos speak for themselves.

All photos are 2 coats of Taboo and one coat of Taboo.

The red shimmer is much more evident in direct light and I swear I could see a touch of green duochrome on the edges but it might just be me ?

The colour is so complex and gorgeous and unique, the formula is flawless, it can cover in just one coat but I used 2.
I definitely think everyone should pick this up and because it's limited edition I wouldn't risk waiting! I'm even thinking of picking up a backup

ONE STROKE BUTTERFLY NAILS

Hi guys, have you entered my giveaway here?
I hope your enjoying warmer weather wherever you may be because we certainly are here in the uk! The lovely weather is what inspired these nails, clear blue skies and pretty butterflies!
So for this I started off with two coats of Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau, then sponged on a little bit of white for clouds before applying one coat of Revlon Whimsical (simply because it's pretty and I haven't used it in ages). When that was dry I used the one  stroke technique to paint on the butterfly wings and finally added the rest of the detail with black acrylic paint before topcoating it all!

This design was far from perfect but I really enjoyed these nails, so summery and happy, what do you guys think?
