BLACK KNIGHT LAYERING

*sigh* it sucks being sooo skint !
Anyway, I'm sure you all saw this layering combo by Scrangie, well it was gorgeous right.

Anyway I really wanted tart with a heart but after my recent cash flow crisis I wasn't able to but the other day whilst attempting to organise my stash I came across this really old thick polish
It looks all yucky in the bottle now but irl, it's a real pretty colour with loads of holographic sparkles and I thought it reminded me slightly of tart with a heart, so since I was already wearing my black knight franken I thought why not and slapped it on

well I was kind of blown away, no it doesn't look like Scrangie's layering but it still looked pretty amazing !

The base colour wasn't black anymore it was more a duochromy plummy now and it has a tonne of sparkles in it which shine like crazy ! it doesn't look as awesome in the photos as what it does irl though !

holographic sparkles !!!

here I tried to capture the colour shift

So, what do you think? unfortunately this polish is a really old one from superdrug, some of you British ladies might recognise the old long rectangular bottles, so I'm sorry if you want this polish now, but I guess the morale of this story is erm... never underestimate old manky polishes because they may just surprise you ; )

Oh and another thing Nail Loopy is now on twitter !!
So come and follow me by clicking on the button in the right hand column ! : )

THE BLACK KNIGHT FRANKEN

Remember I got sally hansen rockstar pink in my swap with Karen a while ago, well I set to work straight away and started  making my franken

I had this black nail polish from Loreal which was really thick so I added some thinner, there was just under 1/3 of black polish left in the bottle and then I started adding the glitter I think I added the same amount of rockstar pink as there was black and lo and behold this beautiful polish was born !

I really like the black knight and if I hadn't found this quick and cheap franken I would have bought the original, anyway you'll have seen the same recipe on loads of blogs already but I wanted to share mine with you because I loovvee it ! : )

Oh, I also added some loose blue glitter which you can see on the middle finger, looking at it now, it might have been better to use a smaller finer glitter, but you can't tell irl !

Wow, is that just not beautiful?
I love the person who came up with this recipe and shared it, they saved me a lot of money, thankyou !
Anyway's as if this wasn't enough tune in tomorrow to see what I layered over this baby !

VALENTINES SKITTLES FAIL !

I had such high hopes for this mani, but this turned into one of the biggest fails ever !

You may remember I got some stamping plates from born pretty a while ago and I only got round to trying them out the other day, I decided the use the hearts french tip stamp, now this is my first time stamping and I don't think it could have gone any worse !

I thought I'd stamp the pattern to cover my whole nail in all different pinks and reds etc, so I painted all my nails with a pale pastel pink franken and then started stamping with zoya renee, sometimes it went ok other times I just wanted to cry ! anyway I carried on with different colours and then in an attempt to hide the hideous stamping I started layering different polishes over it

pinky - Teenage dream, Ring - I lilly love you (it smudged so badly !), Middle - clear with a red heart rhinestone, Pointy - nubar 2010

This was my favourite finger out of them all , but it was still a shambles ! loll look at my horrific stamping, I completely missed the side of the nails ! : o

Anyways I hope your Ok after that, do you have any stamping tips for me ?

JOIN THE GLITTERATI PT. 3 FRANKENS

alrighty ladies, final part
will keep it short and sweet, i was experimenting with my new glitter and decided i'd try a couple of frankens
i don't have any names for any these, if you've got any suggestions i'd love to hear them : )

this is one of my favorites :  )

for this next one i was going for a china glaze flying dragon, i don't think it's anywhere near fd lol, *shrug* but oh well i still like it

i don't know what on earth this was meant to be lol, but it's really gritty and i'm not sure i like it

wow, this has a little bit of everything in it, not sure if i like it, it looks a bit too bumpy and thick,

and here are the ingredients for my fav. franken, combines all my favourite things in a nail polish, its green and got some crazy glitter in it and no-one else has this loll, and measurements... i dont know loll

did you know that this green is what you get when you mix black and yellow polka dot bikini ! you learn something new every day !!

it's one of those ugly shades loll, it reminds of the bottom of a swamp loll, but i still really like this

no topcoat here, but it's surprisingly not too gritty :  )

you can see a fair bit of the glitters sunk to the bottom here !

do you like any of these? do you think i was successful? anyway i think i've had enough of glitter for now loll
toooodles xx : )

JOIN THE GLITTERATI PT 1, 1st FRANKEN

hey y'all lol  (i never say that lol), over the next couple of days i am going to show you some major glittah bling bling nails !! i have been experimenting hehe
warning: sunglasses are advisable !

this is my first franken ever, i think it turned out ok but it's quite bumpy, please let me know what you think

here's how it started, i bought this glitter from ebay agess ago and yes it's fake mac, but i only found out about a year ago lol, it's meant to be for eyes, but the glitter particles are just too big and messy for eyes, imo. its really holo-y, gorgeous !

so i just mixed it with some clear nail polish ....

looks like rectangle glitter or lights hmm, this needs t be enlarged!

i just couldn't capture the holo in this, well look at the sky : (

and as soon as i took this off, the bloomin sun decides to show its face : I

unfortunately, in the bottle all the glitter sinks to the bottom of the bottle thats why i didn't include any bottle pics, its a bit bumpy and gritty, but its missing a tc, but what do you think?

GLITTER IN THE AIR FRANKEN / LAYERING

another delayed post for you today, was actually meant to publish this a while ago
anywho, i won't bore you today with my ramblings loll, so i'm just going to get straight into it
now, for my Deborah Lippmann's 'glitter in the air' is the stuff that dreams are made of lol, i can only dream of owning any of lippman's nail polishes (happy birthday *swoon*)
anyway i'd seen loads of frankens popping up on blogs and when i bought this gawgussss nail polish a couple of weeks back i thought hmm its got pink and blue hexagonal glitter in it ! (it was like a light bulb going off in my head lol)
ok so it's not really a franken ( i didn't think it would work) i just kind of layered the polishes, ok i've written too much (again) lol, i just thought i'd share with you how i did it, like a tutorial

*warning -very pic heavy*

step 1

base coat of this pale blue (painted rather roughly lol, but doesn't matter it'll be covered up)

this is the polish in question (spectacular 'baby blues') its really old and almost finished too, i never wore this colour before and i guess i wasted like the whole bottle and now i've found a use for it, it's nearly finished *sigh* : (
step 2

this is the stunning new polish i got a few weeks ago from ebay , isn't it stunning !
if you can see this polish is packed with light pink, light blue and like purple hex shaped glitter oh and tiny little gold glitter particles too
so carefully applied this polish onto the light blue and didn't apply any of the purple glitter

i must say this polish has really good coverage and glitter applies itself nicely in one coat ( i will do a post for this nail polish later, as it really deserves one)

step 3

apply a sheer polish over the top of the glitter

i saw this idea a couple of weeks ago on a blog, i honestly can't remember who's, sorry, i will find out lol and put it on

yes, i managed to knock the middle finger and little finger : (

this is the nail polish i used to layer over the glitter, sorry i don't know the name it's worn off, its a lovely semi-sheer kinda pearly white
just one normal coat over the glitter is enough

ok ladies, soo wow lots of piccies lol, i think it turned out ok, but please leave a comment and let me know what you think, does it work?
luv ya xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
