THE BODY SHOP WHITE LACE STAMPING

Hey guys, today I've got the gorgeous The Body Shop Colour Crush nail polish in Mint Cream* and I know it's nowhere near spring yet but this would be gorgeous for spring time.
I used 2 coats and they applied nicely like all the other Colour Crush polishes and I didn't use topcoat in the plain swatch, it was already really shiny !
I then used this lace stamping plate* from Born Pretty Store and this stamper* on the middle finger and the pinky I used a chevron nail vinyl.  I love how delicate this looks in the end

(please excuse the cut on my pinky, this was done whilst assembling a matrix band! ouch)

W7 PISTACHIO LACE NAILS

Happy Sunday! Well, here in England we've had a bit of a storm so it's been a gloomy day but we had a lovely dinner again today and I'm happy to be ending the day with a cup of tea, Only Fools and Horses and blogging :)
So today I have a very pretty nail polish to share with you and some very pretty nail art too. I 've been obsessed with lace nails but always have to freehand them because I don't any stamping plates with a lace design. For these nails I started with 2 coats of W7 Pistachio* which is part of the Summer Sorbet collection from W7. I'm a big fan of W7, their black and white is a staple in my collection and I love their Galaxy collection but I haven't tried out any of their cremes in a while. This is a lovely minty colour which isn't very unique but still gorgeous and I expected the formula to be nice but the formula was just a bit off with this, it's nothing major though. I did get some bubbling though which was probably my fault because it was super hot in my room when I swatched this.
I then did a glitter gradient with Dance Legend Argus and drew on this lacey design which I copied from Creatinails on instagram.

NEON MINT & HOLO PURPLE CIRCLE GLEQUINS

Hey guys, how was your day? Mine was busy but I used a bone saw today and cut through somebody's mandible (not a living person!)
Anywho so I'm still quite liking neons so I used Color Club Twiggie and holo purple circle glequins for the rest of the details and then applied a generous coat of topcoat.

I love it ! I love glequins & glitter placement :)

MINT MANIS FOR TALIA JOY

Today I have a special mani for a very special little girl. On Wednesday Nicole at Nail Polish Wars asked the nail community to join her in honoring Talia Joy Castellano, you can see the post here, so I did this mani.

I started off with three coats of Essence That's What I Mint and then painted on a single flower on my middle finger using the one stroke technique. It's simple but I think it's effective if you know what I mean.

So that's all I want to say in this post, I just pray for Talia and her family.

Check out everyone else's mint manis here:

MINTY ONE STROKE ROUND FLOWERS

Hey guys, hows your week started? I have spent most of today painting my nails and trying out different techniques and designs, some of which you'll see soon :)

So I felt like painting something different to the regular one stroke flowers etc. which is how this design was born.
I started off with 2 coats of Catrice Sold Out Forever (please don't ask me which version this is because there are quite a few and I find it slightly frustrating!) Then I used 2 blue acrylic paints, one dark blue and one lighter blue, then I just kinda pressed down on the brush so the bristles spread out on the nail and rotated to form a circle shape. I then outlined the flowers with some black acrylic paint and added some white dots in the center before finishing it all off with topcoat.
What do you guys think? The technique is quite easy but it takes a little bit of practice which you can see I need lol!

This is dodgy hand pose but I included it because you can see the difference between the 2 blues in the flowers a bit more clearly.

See you in the next post then guys, take care :)

ONE STROKE FLOWERS 1ST TRY

Hi guys, are you ready to go back to work tomorrow? I'm work evening shifts so I'm going polish shopping tomorrow morning to cheer myself up, hehe :)

Anywho onto nail business, I've finally given the one stroke technique a go; way back in January when I should have been revising I ended up spending  half a day (and a night) procrastinating by watching loads of one stroke videos on youtube and I was completely fascinated ! I couldn't wait to try it out and was sure it would be the first thing I tried out after I'd finished my exams, well funny how the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry right?
Well anyways I finally gave this technique a go a couple of weeks ago and today I'll show you my first try.
It's not prefect, in fact it's far from it but the colours seem to work together which is why I think I've got away with it here!

There's obviously room for improvement, but I'm quite pleased with this! What do you guys think and have you tried this technique out?

MINTY GLEQUIN GRADIENT

Hi all my beautiful friends, how are you all?
So today I have another springy mani for you which is actually a big fat fail ! The glequins were supposed to look like a gradient fading from silver into pink, it didn't really work ! It still kinda looks pretty from a distance, so erm please don't ask me why I included a big macro shot of the glequined nail !

I started off with 2 coats of a minty green Color Club I got in a set from TK Maxx (I don't know the name if you guys have an idea please let me know in the comments) then just applied the silver and pale pink glequins and topped it all with a nice thick coat of  NYC Turbo Dry Topcoat !

Gosh, I've applied these rather sloppily !

So there you go, looking at these pictures is just making me wish spring would hurry up and make an appearance !
Take care guys, see you in my next post!

GREEN TEA & BLACK GLITTER

Do you guys have a polish which you love but its brush/formula/application makes you want to cry ?
Well today I'm showing you mine, namely Sally Hansen's Green Tea.
I picked this up in Poundland and it is the perfect mint green colour for me, seriously I find it really flattering on my skin tone and it's just gorgeous. Unfortunately the brush on this is appalling, so bad that it took me 3 times as long to paint my nails.
I tried trimming the brush but it made very little difference. To hide some of the imperfections in the base colour I topped it all off with one coat of Fergie's Wet 'n Wild Tonight's Gonna Be A Good Night (which I love!)

SNAKE (AKA THE BEST GAME EVER) NAILS

Yep Snake is the best games ever right, I remember it used to keep me awake many a nights on my ancient brick of a Nokia ; )  I don't like all the new versions of the game, you can't beat the classic original
So in tribute to the snake this mani was born,
I painted 2 coats of Bys Mint Condition and then used black acrylic paint to draw on my snake which actually turned out to be a bit of fatty ; /

So what do you guys think ? Did snake keep you awake many nights too?
