UK BLACK AND WHITE GLITTER COMPARISON

Hi guys, I've managed to find myself with 10 spare minutes tonight so I thought I'd do a little post for you :)
As you may have seen the oh so famous black and white glitters are now popping up in UK stores which prompted me to do a little comparison for you.

My middle finger I've used one coat of Ninja Polish Sticks n' Stones as a reference ($9.00 from Ninja Polish, currently out of stock)
My Index finger I've used one coat of Boots Seventeen Off The Wall Graffiti nail effects (£3.99 from Boots)
My ring finger I've used one coat of Claire's Black Mix glitter (£3.00 from Claire's)
My pinky finger I've used one coat of Maybelline Polka Dots Chalk Dust (no longer available in store but you can get it from eBay, price varies)

My base colour is Angelica nails Pillar Box Red*

I'm not going to describe them with words, just scroll down and look at the macro pictures because they'll do a better job than I will!

My least favourite is the Seventeen one from Boots mainly because it's a bit clumpy and there's a bit too much going on! I love them all though and if you don't own any black and white glitters then go and get some because they're awesome.
If you have any black and white glitters you've seen on the UK market that you would like to include here please leave a comment below or tweet me or email etc etc.

*These products were sent to me for my honest review. See my disclosure policy for more details

DIAGONAL GRADIENT

*This is a scheduled post*

I'm still experimenting with gradients, this time I've done the gradient diagonally across the nail, For this I used Illamasqua Grab and China Glaze Def Defying. The placement of this gradient was a bit tricky if you get what I mean, so all the nails weren't really the same! I then added one coat of Ninja Polish Sticks n' Stones.

I loved this, well I kinda love all gradients! Tee hee

CHINA GLAZE I'M WITH THE LIFEGUARD & GLITTER LAYERING

Happy Friday guys. I'm in a very good mood today, not sure why though!
I've just spent the past hour glequining and I need a break so I thought I'd show you these nails I did a while ago; very bright and in your face !

So I completely skipped over the China Glaze Summer 2012 neon collection and got this shade by accident in the big lot I showed you in my previous haul and I fell in love with it, well mainly the shimmer in it! I'm thinking I need more of that collection now, hmm!

Anyways if you would like to recreate this mani, then you'll need 2 coats of China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard, followed by 1 coat of China Glaze Glistening Snow for some sparkle and finally top it all off with one coat of the best glitter topper in the world ie. Ninja Polish Sticks n' Stones (or any of it's many many dupes!)

It was rather difficult capturing the true colour of these nails because when my camera saw neon it just refused to co-operate ! I tried to make it a bit more colour accurate whilst editing but that didn't really work and I've ended up with funny looking skin !

I'm With The Lifegaurd - Very neon and green, with gorgeous gorgeous shimmer which makes this shade a lot more wearable imo!

Ok, so that's all folks, have a lovely weekend and I'll see y'all soon ;)

BLUE NAILS FOR WORLD DIABETES DAY

Today is World Diabetes and it's lovely that I can show my support through my nails and my blog : ) I have a friend who is a year older than me and has type 1 diabetes so I know how difficult it can be; a couple of years ago when she being as careful with her diet as she should have been she took a turn for the worst and ended up in hospital for a couple of months but thankfully she's much better now. I also have a few family members who suffer too so I had to join it today.

Diabetes is a chronic disease that arises when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces.  Insulin is a hormone made by the pancreas that enables cells to take in glucose from the blood and use it for energy. Failure to produce insulin, or of insulin to act properly, or both, leads to raised glucose (sugar) levels in the blood (hyperglycaemia). This is associated with long-term damage to the body and failure of various organs and tissues. (Taken from the International Diabetes Federation website where you can find out more about diabetes and today)

So for the nails I did 2 coats of Kiko 336 (the Nails Inc Baker Street dupe) and then topped it off with one coat of Ninja Polish Sticks n' Stones and 2 coats of topcoat. The accent nail is supposed to be an accu check testing strip, complete with the drop of blood on the end.

Check out everybody else's blue mani's and share your own : )

    STICKS N' STONES AGAIN

Hi guys, I'm sorry I disappeared for a while but the past few days have been really crazy and stressful and hectic and well you get the idea, and to be honest I haven't felt like talking to anyone either, this is all mainly because I didn't get into university this year so I have to reapply again next year but the entry requirements have gone up so I have to resit quite a few exams in January and it just makes me feel like I'm going backwards especially when I see so many people I know moving onto uni. I just want this so much and I'm having to work as hard as I possibly can to get it.
I don't really post a lot of personal stuff on here because I strongly believe in the saying "Never tell your problems to anyone...20% don't care and the other 80% are glad you have them" but sometimes it really does get too much.

So onto the nails, this is 2 coats of an unnamed red Illamasqua jelly/creme which I got from a blog sale and then 1 coat of Ninja polish sticks n' stones

Please excuse the chip on the middle finger
