BLUE CUBE SKITTLE NAILS

Hey guys, so it's my last weekend before my second semester starts at uni so I'm editing loads of blog photos this weekend so when I'm busy all I have to do is type up the post and publish!
Today I have another vault mani to show you. I love skittles but I feel like I'm rubbish at them so hardly do them but I know that there are loads of different designs you can create with rhombus glequins so I decided to do a skittlette mani using just 3 different coluored rhombus glequins.
I started off with two coats of Kiko 340 and then made small cubes on the ring finger, a zig zag pattern on the middle nail, which I really liked and must do again, and on the pinky and pointy nails I did a small cube in the center next to the cuticle.

I quite like it but unfortunately the pictures haven't turned out as nice as I'd have liked!
To do all my nails it took about an hour which, when it comes to glitter placement, is not long. So you can try it out and it shouldn't take you too long but your nails will still be super sparkly and pretty :)

PINK & BLUE SKITTLES WITH MAYBELLINE CHALK DUST

Hi guys, hope your all keeping well, I just have an old notd to show you today. For this I used Essie Lights and Kiko 340 on alternating fingers before topping it all with Maybelline Chalk Dust.

I loved the two colours here together and I loved how the Chalk Dust tied it all together :) Have you picked up this black and white glitter yet? I know it has a different name in the states.

DIY TEXTURED NAILS

Texture is all the rage right now and to be honest I'm not feeling it, I've tried it and it's just not for me, it makes me cringe! However I know lots and lots of people love it so I did a little experiment the other day and the result was quite good so I thought I'd share it with your all.
I only own 2 textured polishes both of which are from the OPI Bond Girls collection, so I thought I'd try to create a similar result before purchasing a full bottle. I am honestly pleased with the outcome, I wore this for a day and everybody thought it was a textured polish.

Do you like the outcome?
Check back tomorrow for a full tutorial on how to recreate this effect yourself at home using products you will probably already have in the house!

BLACK & GOLD SKITTLES NAILS

I very rarely do skittle nails. mainly because I don't have enough ideas for 5 different nails
Well this mani started with Mac Nocturnelle and  gold holographic striping tape (which is really fiddly and lost all holoness and some of it's colour with topcoat) which I applied in a criss cross way on my pointy finger and because that nail alone took like 10 mins, I decided to use the bullion beads on my desk for my middle finger and then I used Barry M gold foil to stamp the necklaces and used Milani Gold Gems to create a shiny gemstone on the necklace and then once I'd sat for 10 minutes clueless as to what do on my pinky I did a gradient with milani gems !
Well that's a right tale, I hope you like the final effect, I do : )

VALENTINES SKITTLES FAIL !

I had such high hopes for this mani, but this turned into one of the biggest fails ever !

You may remember I got some stamping plates from born pretty a while ago and I only got round to trying them out the other day, I decided the use the hearts french tip stamp, now this is my first time stamping and I don't think it could have gone any worse !

I thought I'd stamp the pattern to cover my whole nail in all different pinks and reds etc, so I painted all my nails with a pale pastel pink franken and then started stamping with zoya renee, sometimes it went ok other times I just wanted to cry ! anyway I carried on with different colours and then in an attempt to hide the hideous stamping I started layering different polishes over it

pinky - Teenage dream, Ring - I lilly love you (it smudged so badly !), Middle - clear with a red heart rhinestone, Pointy - nubar 2010

This was my favourite finger out of them all , but it was still a shambles ! loll look at my horrific stamping, I completely missed the side of the nails ! : o

Anyways I hope your Ok after that, do you have any stamping tips for me ?

PASTEL HOUNDSTOOTH

I'm not feeling too good today so I'm at home, the weather doesn't really help much in cheering you up either : (
Anyway, I have been feeling soo uninspired recently I just haven't know what to do on my nails ! So, I decided to do try Linda's tutorial for the freehand houndstooth pattern, I love this design but I don't have the konad plate so when she posted a tutorial I couldn't wait to try it ! Well it took several months but I finally did it yesterday
I couldn't decide which colour to do and after realising I've never done skittle nails, I decided to do use my OPI shrek mini's for a skittley mani !

Pinky - Pointer finger , Who the shrek are you, Fiercely Fiona, Whats with the cattitude, Rumple's wiggin.
I used black acrylic paint for the pattern , let me know if you like it

oh and just be warned, it doesn't look very good in the photos, it was the last step that confused me and they went wonky but your couldn't tell in real life !
