EVANORA INSPIRED NAILS

Hey guys, I'm so tired today, really glad that today is over and tomorrow is Friday yaay!

So since we got Sky Movies (which is about 7 months ago now, haha) I've been watching lots of movies, well when I can. Recently I watched Oz The Great and Powerful (what an awesome movie) and caught myself concentrating on Evanora's nails a bit too much, which is what inspired these nails!

I started off with 1 coat of Essie Good As Gold and then I used black acrylic paint to draw the triangle shape and fill in the rest of the nail and then applied one coat of OPI Matte Top Coat before applying these gorgeous emerald green triangles (which I want as earrings) which the lovely Sarah sent me as a gift from her store here which I definitely recommend you check out!

I love these so so much! I think all the colours work really together and I love the rhinestones so much and I just adore the matte look of it all :)

You can find the rhinestones here and whilst you're there make sure you check out the rest of Sarah's store because there are a lot of awesome products for really affordable prices!

MINNIE MOUSE NAILS WITH BOW STUDS

Hey everyone, boo it's Sunday night, I have a full week of uni to look forward to! I'm planning a trip to Sally's though tomorrow so hopefully I can find something nice for there.
Anyway so a little while ago me and the lovely Sarah did a little swap and in the package she included a little bag with some gorgeous nail studs, decals and other embellishments she sells in here store She Sells Seashells. The store stocks loads of different nail art accessories for a really good price and it's based in the UK which means that you'll get your order in only a few days aaand shipping is a very reasonable £1/£1.20 for orders under £25 and free for anything above £25!
Ok, so that's a bit of background into the shop, now let's talk nails!
I decided to use the 3mm bow rhinestones* in black and silver. I thought they'd work really well in a Minnie Mouse inspired design, so I started with two coats of OPI Big Apple Red, then used OPI Alpine Snow and a dotting tool to create the polka dots.
To stick on the rhinestone I applied a small dot of top coat where I wanted the rhinestone to sit on the nail before applying a generous amount of topcoat (which smudged some of my design)

I loved this, it was so cute and the rhinestone held up really well and was flat on the nail.
You can buy these rhinestones here for £1.25 !

* this product was sent to me as a gift

30 DAY CHALLENGE, DAY 18 - HALF MOONS

aah, so simple and chic, yet the hardest nail design i may have ever done ! *shocking*
and this morning i learnt on rebecca likes nails  that it was an old tradition for women to leave a half moon !
i love the half moons and first saw them on dita von teese and decided to try them out, i don't think i've ever been so frustrated with a design ! oh the horror ! they came out wonky, i tried the guides and they made things worse, anyway since then i only admired them from a distance loll, and when i saw them on list i thought oh no ! but i had a great idea, i saw a picture on google about a year ago and i had to recreate it

and in true nail loopy style, i managed to knock my little finger *typical*

but i loved the rhinestones because it didn;t make the half moons look soo wonky loll

the crackle didnt't shatter in lines like it should have done (maybe it was because i didn't wait for the base colour to dry !)

i really quite like this design, as it's quite chic and neutral but also rather funky loll, would you wear this ?

ooops and i also want to say thankyouu so much ladies for showing Anna at Pretty Digits soo much support, i feel so connected, loll hehe : P

RAINDROPS KEEP FALLIN' ON MY HEAD

Good day to all you lovely polish obsessed people, how are you all ? i'm tired , so very tired, but i really want to show you this mani, as you probably all know illamasqua had a summer sale on with their nail polishes reduced from £13.50 to only £5.00 !!!! and whilst looking at the colours my heart kind of skipped a beat when i saw they had raindrops!!! they also had hectic but it was out of stock in a couple of days, anyway long story short i ordered insanity and raindrops!

the colours ran in the umbrella : (

i find that this mani is totally appropriate looking at the sky! i just want to say to all those who could be affected by hurricane irene, stay safe : )

however these few seem a tad contradictory as they're taken in sunlight looll

this is a close up isn't it gorgeous, the name of this polish is completely fitting don't you agree?

this is my first illamasqua and i must say i was pleased, however the brush on this seemed to be a bit funny, it didn't spread out properly on the nail, it had a gap in the middle ! and the other thing, 4 coats!! i could have done 5 but nooo, too many, next time i think i'll layer it over a grey
another thing i want to mention is that this had incredible staying power, you may have noticed the one tiny chip on my index finger but i think that's quite impressive considering this nail polish underwent a grueling testing process today loll, what, i hear you ask, well today we were chiseling off all the kitchen floor tiles and my job was to collect them all and chuck em away, not very nail polish friendly but all i suffered was one tiny chip ! i'm very pleasedd :  )

ok i hope you enjoyed this post, oh and tomorrow is my very first driving lesson, so stay off the roads ladies lolll

DOTTY, SQUAREY, TRAINGELY MANI

hehe, i know that title is complete pants,  but i didn't know what to call it
this post is super duper early but i havent had much time really because for 3 days straight i have been constantly painting, you see you do one bit really nice and then suddenly everyone gets it into their head that your amazing at painting and so you get stuck with it all, but oh well i'm finally off to the seaside next tuesday : ) yaaay
anyway here is todays mani, i was inspired by some nail stickers i saw over at (can't remember now) !

just a plain black base with painted triangleish shapes and squares and circles and then i threw on some rhinesetones to add some sparkle

this was a bit of a rushed mani, you can probably tell from here

i think it's alright, not quite how i wanted it to turn out but i'll try this again and makes the shapes smaller and use different colours, what do you think, would you wear this?
