ILLAMASQUA SALE PICKS

Hey guys, for this fine Saturday I have put together my picks from the Illamasqua sale which may help you with your weekend online shopping!
Illamasqua's sales are the best. Their products are on the pricey side and the quality normally reflects in the higher price. When they have a sale, they don't just knock off a pound or 2, they actually knock off 70% which means there are so many bargains to be had.
Today I thought I'd share my picks from the sale, these are all nail related but as a bonus I have included a few other non nail related items ;)
You can click on the product picture to be taken to the product page, you can also click any of the other pictures to be taken to the post where I've used that product.

Nail Varnish in Swarm
1) Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Swarm - £14.50 £5. This is a simple black glitter topper which 3 different sized glitter, it looks amazing over any colour and gradients too. You can also use it in nail art like I have done here. (click the pictures to be taken to the full post)

Nail Varnish in Viridian
2) Nail Varnish is Viridian - £14.50 £5. A gorgeous raching bluey green which is stunning for fall/winter and very unique. I haven't actually posted this on my blog yet!

UV Glow Nail Varnish in OmenUV Glow Nail Varnish in Omen
3) Nail Varnish in Omen - £15.00 £5. This is a eye searingly bright green with gorgeous shimmer and it glows under UV light! Need I say more? It looks amazing on it's own and works beautifully in nail art, in fact this would be great for Halloween.

Nail Varnish in Noble
4) Nail Varnish in Noble - £14.50 £5. Just a really gorgeous blue that everybody needs in their collection.

Nail Varnish in Radium

5) Nail Varnish in Radium - £14.50 £5. Now this may look like a bit on ugly colour but the added shimmer makes this so unique and gorgeous that everyone will be asking what's on your nails.

Nail Varnish in Prosperity
6) Nail Varnish is Prosperity - £14.50 £5. This just looks like a great super bright purple! I cannot wait to get my hands on this!

Precision Ink in Scribe

7) Precision Ink in Abyss - £20.00 £7.50.  I know these are meant for the eyes but they would also make really great nail art pens. The applicator comes a lovely point which is perfect for intricate details. My picks are the essential white & black, the white looks really opaque as well which is important for nail art!

Bonus picks!

Gleam in Supernatural
  • Gleam in Supernatural £10 - I have this and it's amazing! It gives the most amazing glowy look to the face!
Lipstick Palette
  • Lip Palette with Fable, Plunge, Over and Corrupt £15 -  4 Illamasqua lipsticks for £15! These also look like nice wearable colours
Intense Lipgloss in Succubus
  • Intense Lipgloss in Succubus £5 - This is a blood red 'liquid lipstick' which just looks so beautiful, I cannot wait to get this!

So that concludes my sale picks, I'm just about to place my order and if you guys do too, share your haul with me in the comments and if you want to see what I got follow me on my instagram :)

ESSENCE TEXTURED TRIANGLE NAILS

Hey everybody, happy Friday! Do you have any plans for this weekend? I got a box full of some gorgeous acrylic paint yesterday which I'm so excited to try out, so that's what I'll be doing this weekend!
Today I have more nail art using Essence nail polish! For these I started with 2 coats of Essence 111 English Rose, a typical granny colour, which is probably why it's a unique addition to my stash, lol! (It's dustier and browner irl) I then applied 2 coats of Essence 128 Hello Rosy* on my accent nail and then used these nail vinyls from She Sells Seashells as a guide and painted on the triangle tips. I didn't apply top coat to this because I wanted the contrast in texture on the nail.

KOOKY NEON NAIL WRAPS

Hi guys, how are you all today? The weather has been awful this past week but today I have some very bright neon nails to share with you all!
I don't believe I've ever shown nail wraps on my blog before, mainly because they tend to crease on my nails, so I was quite curious about trying these ones by Kooky.
These are the Neon Orange & Silver* design from the Neon Me collection for Summer 2014 by Kooky. Now, orange is not my favourite nail colour as you may know so when I got these I was a bit hmm but I tried them and was pleasantly surprised.
These wraps don't require any heat and are really easy to apply, select the size which is best suited to your nail, peel it off the backing (it said to apply dehydrater onto the nail but I didn't receive that it's not essential, you can just wipe your nail with acetone) Apply the wrap to the nail and I find it easier to use my finger to smooth it all down and then file off the excess at the free edge of your nail.
Simple! I did get some creases as you can see but I can live with it.
These neon wraps are so bright and they make you look so tan aswell so they're perfect for summer! I'd probably use these on holiday and you can even apply these perfectly on a plane or a train or any other mode of transport (except cycling and walking, unless you have an extra set of hands!)

I actually quite like these, and they're very convenient and easy to use. There's also several other neon designs in this collection which look just as cool!
These wraps are available here from The Beauty Partnership.

ESSENCE HELLO SPRING 178

Hey guys, today I have a beautiful nail polish by Essence to share with you. This is Hello Spring* a gorgeous pale green with lots of silver shimmer in it. Even though it looked gorgeous in the bottle I thought it may be really sheer but I'm really happy to report that it only requires 2 coats! The formula is great and it's a really pretty polish. Unfortunately the silver shimmer in the bottle doesn't show as strongly on the nail but it's still visible.

CHINA GLAZE CHOO CHOO CHOOSE YOU - FALL 2014

Hi guys, I'll keep it brief today, I'm really tired.
Today I have a gorgeous nail polish from the upcoming All Aboard collection for Fall by China Glaze, this was the only one which I felt I needed.
It's a very unique nail polish and very beautiful. I used one thinnish coat and then one thicker coat, there's no topcoat on here and the formula is lovely, a tad on the thin side but I think it'll thicken up with time.

TO CLIP OR NOT TO CLIP?

That is the question.
Hey guys, so I know a lot of people don't cut their nails and just file them down but I tried it once and call me impatient but I'll be sticking to my nail cutter.
Normally I let my nails grow and when they're mid to long length I tend to just do lots of manis in about 4 days and then after that I'm sick of them and they become irritating and I have to cut them down and for that I use a nail cutter to get rid of the length and then I use a nail file to square them off and make them all smooth and lovely, do you any of you guys do that?
So today I have a review of the Clyppi nail cutter*
This has only very recently launched on amazon and is described as ‘an ULTRA COOL PRECISION TOOL which will help you achieve that Sharp, Clean, Well Groomed look people find so impressive and attractive in today’s world’
The Clyppi is £10.97 from Amazon with free delivery and a lifetime warranty! So they are pricey if you think of them as just a nail cutter but they're a bargain when you take the lifetime warranty into consideration!
I did take some pictures but they all turned out blurry and I threw the packaging away so I'm going to use a stock picture

My thoughts? I like them, they're very sharp and don't cause the nail to break when your cutting them. They're very sturdy and you can tell they are quality by the weight and the design. The only thing I don't like is that they're a bit on the small side for me personally.
If you have smaller nails than I do these might be better for you but for now I have passed these on to my dad who really likes them.
Back to our original question, do you clip your nails?
