Hey guys, how are you all? I'm sorry it's been nearly a week since I last posted but this week has been busy! We've had my adopted granddad staying with us and my little cousin. I've also been looking for jobs for this summer and I also spent a day 'deep cleaning' my bedroom after exams lol!
Anyway enough about me, let's talk nails. I know nearly everyone has done a tutorial for a stamping decal but I made this a while ago and it seemed like a shame to not post it. So for these nails I went for a multichrome peacock design, which I will show you how to recreate below, just click the 'read more' button.
What you will need:
Base Coat (not pictured)
Base Colour (I'm using OPI Lady In Black)
Stamping polish (I used Barry M Gold Foil)
2 or more nail polishes to 'colour in' with (I'm using ILNP Sirene and Reminisce)
Stamping plate and scraper
Fast Drying Top Coat
STEP 1 - Apply your base colour (after base coat)
STEP 3 - Using your dotting tool and your first colour, start to fill in the 'gaps' so in this case the feather shapes.
STEP 4 - When that is complete, let the design dry for a few minutes so it doesn't smudge and then apply a layer of topcoat over the whole design.
STEP 5 - Let that dry, a fast drying topcoat will speed up the whole process. Once it's dry, start to peel the decal off the stamper. By pressing the stamper down with the dotting tool or your nail the decal will start to lift by itself.
*Tip* - Pick up your completed decal with some tweezers to make life easier.
STEP 6 - Apply a coat of top coat on the nail and whilst it's still wet position and place the decal on the nail.
STEP 7 - Using your finger press down on the decal and smooth it out on the nail.
STEP 8 - Apply a layer of top coat.
STEP 9 - Trim off and clean up the excess using a cotton bud/brush dipped in nail polish remover/acetone.
And your done! It is a little time consuming but it's really easy to do. I made some decals the night before but the next day they gone too hard and cracked, so I recommend making these as and when you need them.
And here's a bonus macro shot :)
Ok, I'll see you guys in the next post :) Take care until then
