ILLAMASQUA SWARM SWATCHES

Hey guys, I'm really sorry I haven't posted this week but it has been an exhausting week! Thankfully things look like they're settling down for the rest of the week!
Anyway so if you follow me on Instagram you probably saw I treated myself to some Illamasqua, as you may already know Illamasqua is my favourite nail polish brand, I love their colours, the formulas, the customer service and the way they always interact with bloggers on various social media platforms! The hard part is choosing which colour to get, I have 40 Illamasquas in my collection so it's not always easy choosing which colour to get! Anyway enough rambling, lets talk nails.
One of the polishes that I've had my eye on for a while is Illamasqua Swarm, so I treated myself to a bottle when I got my exam results and all I can say is I love it !

I have a lot of pictures to show you so please click on the link below to read more and see some macro pictures too :)

MINNIE MOUSE NAILS WITH BOW STUDS

Hey everyone, boo it's Sunday night, I have a full week of uni to look forward to! I'm planning a trip to Sally's though tomorrow so hopefully I can find something nice for there.
Anyway so a little while ago me and the lovely Sarah did a little swap and in the package she included a little bag with some gorgeous nail studs, decals and other embellishments she sells in here store She Sells Seashells. The store stocks loads of different nail art accessories for a really good price and it's based in the UK which means that you'll get your order in only a few days aaand shipping is a very reasonable £1/£1.20 for orders under £25 and free for anything above £25!
Ok, so that's a bit of background into the shop, now let's talk nails!
I decided to use the 3mm bow rhinestones* in black and silver. I thought they'd work really well in a Minnie Mouse inspired design, so I started with two coats of OPI Big Apple Red, then used OPI Alpine Snow and a dotting tool to create the polka dots.
To stick on the rhinestone I applied a small dot of top coat where I wanted the rhinestone to sit on the nail before applying a generous amount of topcoat (which smudged some of my design)

I loved this, it was so cute and the rhinestone held up really well and was flat on the nail.
You can buy these rhinestones here for £1.25 !

* this product was sent to me as a gift

GOLDEN ROSE JOLLY JEWELS 117

Hi everybody, how is your Saturday? Today I've spent the day painting my nails and doing lots of nail art which I'm excited to share with you soon! I'm now sat with Illamasqua Facet on my nails, which is stunning, and I'm about to start a Breaking Bad Marathon, I've nearly finished the first season and am so hooked!
Ok, so today I have a gorgeous nail polish I picked up in Istanbul last year. This is Golden Rose Jolly Jewels in 117. I think it's a dupe, or very similar, to Deborah Lippmann Cleopatra in New York. It has a good formula, but can be a bit clumpy because there's a lot of glitter in it!

It is quite topcoat thirsty and needs a few coats to smooth it out completely.

DEBORAH LIPPMANN RUBY RED SLIPPERS

Hey guys, are you all glad it's Friday? I am.
Today has been a really long day and I'm so tired and happy to be home with no work to do, yaay!
So today I have a really pretty nail polish to show you from Deborah Lippmann. I picked this up from T K Maxx for £4 I believe.
Its a black base with big and small red hex glitters. I applied 3 coats because it's quite sheer so the glitter shows through. This was really top coat thirsty though, I applied 3 coats of topcoat and you can see from the pictures it's still not a smooth finish!

I LOVE red glitter polishes, it just looks amazing, well at least I think so!
If you guys don't own this, then I recommend you go and buy it, if you can't find it though or if it's too expensive then there are loads of dupes around which should do the job.

CATRICE LILACTRIC

Hey guys, I have a really quick post today, I was heading to bed but I thought I'd post this today quickly.
This is 2 easy coats of Catrice Lilactric, a really pretty soft shade which I think would look perfect in spring but unfortunately I don't think it suits me!
I haven't used topcoat because it was quite shiny and the shimmer already stood out!
Please excuse the dry cuticles, I wasn't going to post this actually but I thought it was such a pretty shade I couldn't not share it!

IRIDESCENT DIAMOND GLEQUIN NAILS

Hey guys, so when I did this mani I did my pinky and thought it looked pretty rubbish and so I wasn't going to continue with the other nails but then someone came round to the house and I didn't really want to see them so I stayed in my room and decided to continue, and funnily enough by the end of it I loved them, haha!
To do these then I started off with 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Stormy Weather which I picked up cheaply in TK Maxx. I then used various different coloured iridescent glequins for the glitter placement before applying a thick coat of top coat, and because the glequins are translucent my placement is a bit sloppy here, oops!
It's not as 'in your face' as most glitter placement nails but hit the light at the right angle and you got a gorgeous flash of different colours!

Ok, so that's it for today, I have another beautiful Lippmann to show you tomorrow :)
