NEON BLUE POLKA DOT GLEQUIN NAILS

Hey guys, how are you all doing today? I'm quite a fan of Wednesdays they are the turning point of the week because after Wednesday we only have Thursday and then it's Friday :D
Anywho so todays nails are done using some amazing matte neon blue glequins* I received from The Glitter Shop. They are the same colour as Nails Inc Baker Street/ Kiko 336 even though they don't really look it in the photos.
I started off with 2 coats of Gosh High School Flirt and then used a slow drying topcoat and applied the blue glequins in lines before applying a generous layer of Essence Better Than Gel Sealer.

This doesn't look as polished as I'd like it to but hey ho!
The glitter itself is gorgeous, it's a stunning colour, great size and it's matte as well which makes it just a little bit special in my books because I don't have a lot of matte glequins.
You can buy the glitter from their ebay store here.

MINNIE MOUSE NAILS WITH BOW STUDS

Hey everyone, boo it's Sunday night, I have a full week of uni to look forward to! I'm planning a trip to Sally's though tomorrow so hopefully I can find something nice for there.
Anyway so a little while ago me and the lovely Sarah did a little swap and in the package she included a little bag with some gorgeous nail studs, decals and other embellishments she sells in here store She Sells Seashells. The store stocks loads of different nail art accessories for a really good price and it's based in the UK which means that you'll get your order in only a few days aaand shipping is a very reasonable £1/£1.20 for orders under £25 and free for anything above £25!
Ok, so that's a bit of background into the shop, now let's talk nails!
I decided to use the 3mm bow rhinestones* in black and silver. I thought they'd work really well in a Minnie Mouse inspired design, so I started with two coats of OPI Big Apple Red, then used OPI Alpine Snow and a dotting tool to create the polka dots.
To stick on the rhinestone I applied a small dot of top coat where I wanted the rhinestone to sit on the nail before applying a generous amount of topcoat (which smudged some of my design)

I loved this, it was so cute and the rhinestone held up really well and was flat on the nail.
You can buy these rhinestones here for £1.25 !

30 DAY CHALLENGE, DAY 11 - POLKA DOT

i love polka dots, we all love polka dots
ok so this is what i came up, i wanted to try something a bit different and attempted a polka dot 'gradient' which i think looks best on the middle finger

i used all pastel colours and i added the black first and thought i'd make a huge mistake as it might overshadow the lighter colours,  but now i look at it i quite like it as i think it adds a bit of depth, what do you think ?

oops, i almost forgot, does anybody remember what pointillism is? it's basically drawing a pictures out of loads of tiny dots and i remember i was taught this when i was little but one of my old teachers who has sadly passed away now, but i really wanted to try this on my nails, and only tried it on my thumb, and decided i'd go for something simple, like a love heart loll

hmm, now quite as good as it looked in my head loll, unfortunately the dam red smudged and started turning yellowy yuk

and i'm sure many of you are probably wondering when will she get her act together and sort out a giveaway, loll, well i am working on it, progress is a little slower than i'd hoped, anyway i am currently in the middle of some swaps and this challenge too, soo i've decided my giveaway will go live as soon as this challenge ends : ) *fingers crossed*

POLKA DOTS AND BOWS

(this is a scheduled post)

hi ladies i'll keep these posts short and sweet, so here's a mani i did a few weeks ago and completely forgot to post, it's really simple but cute :  )

you can tell my nails are much longer here !

both of the bows are different for some reason but i like it : ) i prefer the bow on my point finger

the polka dots look a bit messy here, but recently i saw a tutorial by kayla shevonne and so next time when i do polka dots they should look a lot neater : )
