ACCESSORIZE - DRAGONFLY

So yesterday I showed you the gorgeous ladybird and today I have Dragonfly, I think I like it but I may need to wear it again to make up my mind !
So for this I applied one coat of Dragonfly then 1 coat of Essence - Evil Queen and another coat of Dragonfly, I had hoped you would be able to see the big purple glitter in Evil Queen through the final coat but it just made it look lumpy and uneven!
Dragonfly however applied beautifully now as much clumping with this one, it's a beautiful green with purple glitters and again it looks squishy and pretty :)

You can kind of see the glitter from Evil Queen here

What do you guys think about this one then?

ACCESSORIZE - LADYBIRD

I can't describe how much I love this polish seriously, I ordered one for a friend online and when I saw it in the bottle I though meh because it looked a lot darker in the bottle but there was a 3 for 2 offer on so I ordered it anyway and thought if I didn't like it I'd sell/swap it but oh man I fell in love with this as soon as I put it on! This is gorgeous.
Below is 2 coats topped off with one coat of Seche Vite, the glitter did clump a little bit but it wasn't anything major

Gosh, it looks soo squishy irl and the black glitter just pops, overall a really really gorgeous polish : D

CANDY CANE DRAG MARBLE NAILS

Wow, today's second post : o
Lol, anyway these nails were also done using a red and white polish
So before I did all my nails I decided to try the technique out on my thumb so I roughly painted on a quick coat of white and then the red stripes before using my pin  to drag it across, and it turned out really quite well especially for my first ever try !
So full of confidence I started on the rest of the nails and wow that turned out to be a big fail, I redid each nail about 5 times and eventually just settled with this and I'm not very pleased with it so I'm only showing you 2 pictures !

(sorry the white looks kinda messy and rushed!)

Well, I was going to do a tutorial but I think I need more practise first !

CANDY CANE SWIRLS TUTORIAL

So I thought I'd do a tutorial for yesterday's nails, it's really easy to do and you can use any colours you want

What you will need
Base coat
2 different colour polishes ( I used red and white you can use any colour)
A needle/orange wood stick or anything pointy you can find (I forgot to include it in the photo)

STEP 1 - apply your base coat

STEP 2 - paint on your base colour, paint on a thickish coat and one coater polishes are probably best for this

STEP 3 - While the base colour is still wet, dot on your other polish randomly on the nail, work quickly!

STEP 4 -  Using your pin/needle/orange wood stick, start to swirl the colours around, don't be too hard because you'll end up taking the base colour away too

Ta daa, there you go !

Hope this helped you guys, it's my first tutorial so be kind but please leave feedback so I can improve them :)
I've added a tutorials tab at the top so you'll be able to find this there
I'll probably be back with another post for you tonight, so take care till then

BUTTERFLY STAMPING NAILS

I got home about 10 mins ago from a work Christmas dinner, and I'm really tired (it's been a long day).
I had to post because I have so much to show you before Christmas so I can't miss a day !
Anways these nails I did a while ago for a stamping contest, that was when my internet was messing up and after brainstorming and doing the design for 3 hours the internet died and didn't come back on until the next day by which it was too late !
Anyway for the background I did a swirly tye die effect with black and blue, then I stamped on the butterfly image from BM-205 plate, but instead of using one solid colour I painted on Barry M Gold foil, a mini metallic pink Revlon and Barry M Silver foil in vertical stripes across the image and then stamped ! The gold kind of missed the nail in some places but hey, I'm still learning ; )

Sorry for the blurry pic but it shows the stamping better

Then I topped it all off with 1 coat of Essence Waking up in Vegas

Ok, guys I'm really tired so I'll leave it here and speak to you guys tomorrow : )

RED & GREEN CHRISTMAS GRADIENT NAILS

Hi guys, how are you all doing? I was in a good mood until I got my new glasses about an hour ago, I really don't like them, the frames are the same but the lenses aren't and they're much thicker and they're giving me a headache : ( Other than that, I'm good !

So this is my first proper Christmas mani of 2012, now this year is a bit of a challenge for me, why ? Well because I keep all my polish stuff in our den which is quite big so we all have a section of the room for our hobby stuff but it's the top floor of the house and we don't turn the heating on because it takes ages to warm up and we don't spend all day up there, so when summer comes it's really stuffy and when winter comes it's the same temp as outside, often freezing. So in the winter we close the ladder and leave it. It's too heavy to open everyday and too cold for me to sit up there doing nails so I often grab a handful of polishes and take them down and they often last me throughout the colder months, this means I don't have any of my nail art tools with me so all the nail art I'm going to do will be using regular household items, like a sponge or a pin etc. which means you should be able to recreate these mani's without a problem!
Wow, long explanation lol !

Anyway for this gradient I didn't apply a base colour because it kind of overshadowed the gradient, so on a sponge I directly painted a strip of red (I used Max Factor Redly Nightshade) and then green (I used Catrice King of Greens) and made the colours overlap a little for a smoother gradient. Unfortunately the green didn't really stay green, but it still looks ok, then I added a coat of sOPI 18k Gold topcoat.
Simples!

Ok so there you go, do you like it ? I'll talk to you guys tomorrow then : )
