JOIN THE GLITTERATI PT 1, 1st FRANKEN

hey y'all lol  (i never say that lol), over the next couple of days i am going to show you some major glittah bling bling nails !! i have been experimenting hehe 

warning: sunglasses are advisable ! 

this is my first franken ever, i think it turned out ok but it's quite bumpy, please let me know what you think 

 here's how it started, i bought this glitter from ebay agess ago and yes it's fake mac, but i only found out about a year ago lol, it's meant to be for eyes, but the glitter particles are just too big and messy for eyes, imo. its really holo-y, gorgeous !

 

so i just mixed it with some clear nail polish ....

looks like rectangle glitter or lights hmm, this needs t be enlarged!

i just couldn't capture the holo in this, well look at the sky : ( 

and as soon as i took this off, the bloomin sun decides to show its face : I

unfortunately, in the bottle all the glitter sinks to the bottom of the bottle thats why i didn't include any bottle pics, its a bit bumpy and gritty, but its missing a tc, but what do you think?

SMURF'S WITH ACRYLIC PAINT

hi everyone sorry i haven't posted for the past few days, life's gettin hectic again : (
anyway i might have told you before that i recently invested in some acrylic paint because nearly every nail design i saw on other blogs and youtube was done with acrylic paint, it was supposed to be easier to use than polish.
so i tried using the paint but every time the design had too many brush strokes in it and it was bumpy and awful, feeling disheartened i emailed the unbelievably talented Leslie from Nail Polish Art Addiction ( if you haven't already seen her blog i am telling you to go and check it out right now, thats an order ! lol, but seriously her designs will blow you away) and she was incredibly helpful and gave me a few tips and i would like to present my first successful design ...

lol, yes i know that the smurf's are a brighter blue but this colour will do for now lol, and there are some brush strokes which look a bit naff,  and yes *sob* the nail broke : ( just before i took any piccies i dropped it and kind of accidentally stood on it :  (

sorry it's on a false nail, my nails are too short, and yes i was going to do other characters too but this took enough time loll 

aah , finally uploaded : ) please let me know what you think

GLITTER IN THE AIR FRANKEN / LAYERING

another delayed post for you today, was actually meant to publish this a while ago
anywho, i won't bore you today with my ramblings loll, so i'm just going to get straight into it
now, for my Deborah Lippmann's 'glitter in the air' is the stuff that dreams are made of lol, i can only dream of owning any of lippman's nail polishes (happy birthday *swoon*) 

anyway i'd seen loads of frankens popping up on blogs and when i bought this gawgussss nail polish a couple of weeks back i thought hmm its got pink and blue hexagonal glitter in it ! (it was like a light bulb going off in my head lol) 
ok so it's not really a franken ( i didn't think it would work) i just kind of layered the polishes, ok i've written too much (again) lol, i just thought i'd share with you how i did it, like a tutorial

step 1


base coat of this pale blue (painted rather roughly lol, but doesn't matter it'll be covered up)

 this is the polish in question (spectacular 'baby blues') its really old and almost finished too, i never wore this colour before and i guess i wasted like the whole bottle and now i've found a use for it, it's nearly finished *sigh* : ( 

step 2 

 

this is the stunning new polish i got a few weeks ago from ebay , isn't it stunning ! 

if you can see this polish is packed with light pink, light blue and like purple hex shaped glitter oh and tiny little gold glitter particles too 

so carefully applied this polish onto the light blue and didn't apply any of the purple glitter 

i must say this polish has really good coverage and glitter applies itself nicely in one coat ( i will do a post for this nail polish later, as it really deserves one)

step 3 

apply a sheer polish over the top of the glitter 

i saw this idea a couple of weeks ago on a blog, i honestly can't remember who's, sorry, i will find out lol and put it on 

yes, i managed to knock the middle finger and little finger : ( 

 this is the nail polish i used to layer over the glitter, sorry i don't know the name it's worn off, its a lovely semi-sheer kinda pearly white 

just one normal coat over the glitter is enough

urban decay cult ruffian

this was meant to be yesterdays post, but it was crazy last night, first i had to go and help out at my dad's surgery because there was no nurse and no receptionist and so then as soon i finished there i headed down to my mum's college, she's doing a beauty therapy course and she needs me to be her client 80% of the time so she can torture me ! lol no i'm joking, i went for evening makeup yesterday and it was a real laugh lol and yes she passed lol ! and then i got back about half 9ish and then i had to make something to eat and then it was about half 10 and i completely forgot about this post, i'm sorry anyway enough rambling here you go
(sorry, dont know why or how this stupid highlight has come up)

i used some random boots gold underneath, didn't realise it was quite so faint !

oops i knocked the middle finger and the 'pointy' finger? is that it's called?

i bought this urban decay a couple of years ago but decided i didn't like it but when i saw it again on chloe's nails i had to dig it out lol, do you like?

this is my second time doing a ruffian and i think it turned out ok, when i first saw the ruffian on lacquerized i didn't really like it once i tried it ... what can i say i'm hooked loll

do you guys like the ruffian mani?

ooh flicky things

hii all you lovelies out there, how are you all
well this is a mani i did today,  i saw something similar to this on rachel's blog, and decided i really wanted to try it
ok so its virgin vie white as the base and i used my new acrylic paint in black and a long striper brush, i must say i thought it'd be a lot a harder, but i was surprised by how quick and simple it was to do ! lol

 and now shiny

i definatley prefer it matte, when its shiny it looks more defined but i think i prefer it matte to keep it really simple lol, i really really like this and will definatley do this again maybe with different colours ?
again i've done this in a bit of a hurry so im sorry it looks a bit rough , but if im honest i didnt think it'd work but it did : ) (i think)
