ILLAMASQUA BAPTISTE

Oh gosh, I am cream crackered but I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd type this post up for you guys quickly.
Today I'm showing you another polish I picked up from the Illamasqua sale (I wish I'd got more) this is Baptiste. A really really gorgeous purple with crazy shimmer, it has a bit of a duochromey look to it in the bottle but it doesn't translate to the nail, the shimmer does though !
My pictures aren't the best here because this beauty is a pain to photograph ! It's actually a bit darker than the photos !

You'll see this polish again in my next post with an added extra !  Until then :)

MONOCHROME GLEQUIN NAILS

I'm so tired but I had to show you this awesome mani I did a little while ago !
I bought some black matte hex glitter from ebay about a year ago hoping to be able to use it for frankening but after a few weeks it lost it's colour (which annoyed me a little because the small pot was about £3.50) so they'd just been sitting in the draw for ages ! So the other day I decided to use them as glequins ! Unfortunately these are a bit smaller then the regular Born Pretty Store glequins which may be the reason it took me about 3 hours to do these 4 nails (I didn't do the thumb because  at that point I was going cross eyed lol !)
Anyways, not really got anything else to say about these nails, they were very simple to do but very very time consuming ! The overall effect though is one of the best in my opinion, what do you think?

BLUE WITH RAINBOW GLEQUIN STRIPES!

Hi guys, hope your enjoying your weekend! Here's a quick mani I rustled up a little while ago ! Still on a glequin kick ! I haven't done a rainbow look with them yet so I decided to give it a try !
For this mani I started off with 2 coats of Catrice Blue Cara Caio, then using a white striper polish I painted on the white stripes on each of the nails. Once that was dry I added some topcoat and stuck on the glequins and finished it with all with a coat of topcoat

I'm not crazy about it ! What do you guys think ?
Anyway be sure to tune in for my next post because I have something really awesome to share with you !

LOADED HEARTS !

So this mani almost never made it here, I'm not sure if I like it actually, this was supposed to be for Valentine's day but it didn't make it!
So really quickly for these nails I started off with 3 coats of Illamasqua Load and red acrylic paint for the rest of the details !

Sorry for the really quick post but I'm really tired and I'm just heading off to bed ! See you tomorrow guys !

MONEY SMART NAIL ART

Hi guys, so this is my entry for the Money Smart Nail Art competition! I am cutting it fine (again)! Anyways I  was excited to do this post because it's one I've been wanting to do for a while! So I've just included a few different techniques you can try out at home, all the tools included in this post you'll probably already have in your home, and if you don't they're really cheap and easily available !
For those who may be familiar with these techniques, see if you can guess which household item I used to create each look then let me know if you got them all right in the comments !
This post is really picture heavy as I've included a tutorial for each look (which will all be added on the tutorial page) so I'll insert a jump after these first set of photos!
I won't be doing much talking here, I'll leave that to the tonne of photos I've included

A HOLO LOADA GLEQUINS !

When I saw Load in the Illamasqua sale I was going to pass on it but then I saw this was a big lemming for many people. When I googled it to look at swatches, I couldn't find any for my skin tone, and then some pictures made it look too white, others too yellow and so I wasn't sure if it would look good on me, but I decided to get it and if I didn't like it I'd pass it on to someone who wanted it !
Anyways I'm happy to report that I love it, I've worn it about 5 times since I got and that is not like me at all!
Remember I told you I'm on a glequin kick well this mani was not left alone, haha ! So I painted all my nails with 3 coats of Illamasqua load (the formula was good, maybe a tad streaky but otherwise good! I've included plain swatches at the end of the post) then I used the holographic gold hex glequins and applied them on my ring finger in lines and on the thumb in a honeycomb pattern (I only realised this after I'd completed the mani, doh!)

3 coats of Illamasqua Load alone ! Love it !

So so glad I got this, just wish I'd got a backup! Do you guys have this?

TEAL KIKO & HOLOGRAPHIC GLEQUINS

I told you guys I had a glequin obsession well this mani is only the beginning! This is my first time using the holographic glequins in the big pot, I found these glitter pieces to be smaller than the ones in this set so each nail takes a little bit longer to do, but I only did the accent nail so it didn't really make much difference to me!

So for these nails I painted on 2 coats of Kiko 341 which is a lovely teal colour with a perfect formula (I love love love Kiko nail polishes and need a lot more, their cremes are the best) I then applied the glequins in a honeycomb pattern on my accent nail !

Ok, so that's it and I'll see you guys again soon, enjoy your weekend !
