CATRICEY STAMPED PEACOCK

So I'm currently on a little holiday in pretty much the middle of nowhere, surrounded by endless fields, but it's a lovely place, the cottage is lovely and the gardens are beautiful.
So today we all decided we'd go walking/hiking so we were all dressed in waterproofs and stuff (looking a bit daft too) but they came in extremely handy because after a mile it decided to hail really heavily. We ended up walking about 7 miles in total and my hiker boots were a bit too big and ended up cutting the back of my legs, which is very painful : (

Anyway on to mani business, I accidently ordered the 2011 Bundle Monster stamping plates instead of the 2012 ones and I couldn't be bothered returning them so I kept a couple of plates for myself and the rest my friend wanted! One of the plates I kept had this funky peacocky design which I decided to use for this mani. This is 2 coats of the gorgeous Catrice King of Greens and then stamping with Barry M Gold Foil. Now remember my stamping leaves a lot to be desired so please bare with me as I try to get better !
After the stamping I dotted some Models own Pinky Brown, Purple Blue and Indian Ocean (mixed with some red) to create like peacock spots.

This Catrice stained really badly though, so double up on basecoat when wearing this one

So what do you think of this mani? Are you guys doing anything exciting this weekend?

AZTECY/TRIBAL BLUE SPARROW (NEON) NAILS

I got this polish ages ago but only just tried it, it's a pretty colour but it's rather sheer, this was 4 coats and there's still vnl. although it is less obvious irl!
I used black and white acrylic paint and then just drew on this random thing which ended up looking a bit aztecy/tribaly !

So do you guys have this?

BARRY M - AMETHYST GLITTER

So I picked this glitter up recently as I'd seen a pretty swatch of it somewhere, it didn't look that promising in the bottle but then when I put a coat on it did kinda blow me away.
It has big hexagonal pink, gold, black & turquoise glitter and smaller turquoise glitter.
This is one coat over Catrice - Heavy Metallic, it's a very dense glitter and it was a big clumpy but otherwise gorgeous : )

You should totally get this if you find it : )

CATRICE - HEAVY METALLIC

Oh my goodness what can I say, I adore this and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to try it !
I don't wear purple often but sometimes I get like a craving for a particular colour, lol  ! So yeah last night it was purple, now please excuse the crappy application, I did these last night in my bed with very little light and a funny angle which meant I couldn't really see what I was doing, not a good idea !
Btw, this was an absolute pita to photograph, it just came out looking way too blue toned and in other lighting it wouldn't capture the glowiness, so I had to alter the colour a bit to make it look colour accurate.
Ok so below is 2 coats and no topcoat, (which I totally regret!)

It does remind me slightly of Ulta Orchid (which I also love) I think I'll do a comparison soon
Oh man, I can't express how much I love this polish, seriously if you haven't got this you need this !
So that's all for today folks, tune in tomorrow to see what I layered over this

SALLY HANSEN PRISMS - RUBY SAPPHIRE

So this is one of the prisms I picked up in my haul in September. It is gorgeous, they are really really gorgeous, all of the them !

Today I'm going to show you Ruby Sapphire, I sucked at photographing this so the photo's don't really show the polish's true beauty
This is 3 coats below

I forgot to take underwater shots, oops sorry! Do you guys have any of the nail prisms?

CHINA GLAZE GLITTER ALL THE WAY (CHRISTMAS 2012)

Hmm, so I was really excited to show you this but yesterday's drama with China Glaze stealing an artist's work has put a bit of a dampener on this polish : / I really hope they respond accordingly and sort it out because I really really like China Glaze !

Ok so on to today's polish, this is one of the new glitters from the upcoming Holiday Joy Christmas collection . I only got this one because the others didn't look as interesting, that might change though when swatches start popping up hehe ; )
When I first saw this it didn't scream Christmas so I wasn't sure why they put it in this collection, but when I got it, I got it !
This is an awesome mix of red, purple, gold and slightly larger green glitter ! Application was ok, it required some dabbing but most glitters do. I used 2 coats for this swatch and one coat of Seche Vite which was pretty much enough because it wasn't too gritty

This is what one coat looks like

So I guess this would make a good layering polish too

Overall I'm pleased with this polish and I definitely recommend it, I got mine from Nail Polish Direct but I think the official release is in November, please correct me if I'm wrong

PASTEL WATERCOLOUR NAILS

So do you remember the watercolour trend which used acetone from earlier this year? If not then check this out. Well I wanted to try it out but I didn't have any acetone : o ! So when I got some about a month ago I decided it was time, I tried to create like an early sunset effect which didn't really work out so turned into this mani you see right here !
I started off with one coat of Models Own Baby blues and then I used Barry M Pale Pink and Berry Ice and then Models own Lemon Meringue and the middle finger kind of looks like a sky and the others just look random but kinda cool ; )

So have you guys tried this technique and do you love it ?

STEP UP

So this is 2 coats of an old red Maybelline which is one of the best reds I own, then just some blue and green acrylic paint, this is one of those mani's that grew from playing around and I quite like it, it reminds me of Nailside's cloud mani's expect in square format, what do you guys think?

STICKS N' STONES AGAIN

Hi guys, I'm sorry I disappeared for a while but the past few days have been really crazy and stressful and hectic and well you get the idea, and to be honest I haven't felt like talking to anyone either, this is all mainly because I didn't get into university this year so I have to reapply again next year but the entry requirements have gone up so I have to resit quite a few exams in January and it just makes me feel like I'm going backwards especially when I see so many people I know moving onto uni. I just want this so much and I'm having to work as hard as I possibly can to get it.
I don't really post a lot of personal stuff on here because I strongly believe in the saying "Never tell your problems to anyone...20% don't care and the other 80% are glad you have them" but sometimes it really does get too much.

So onto the nails, this is 2 coats of an unnamed red Illamasqua jelly/creme which I got from a blog sale and then 1 coat of Ninja polish sticks n' stones

Please excuse the chip on the middle finger
