HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Yaaaay, happy new 2012 every body, 

I am so excited for a new year and hope that 2012 will be a good year for me and my family

Anyway, onto polishy things, 2011 was the year of the crackles ( I think many of you will agree when I say I'm all crackled out ) and it looks like 2012 will be the year for magnetic polishes and flakies and I am certainly not complaining about that ( I can never see myself tiring of flakies ) 

It would be nice to see some lovely holo's this year but that may be asking a bit too much ! loll 

Ok, so this is a very quick mani I did, New years is the only time i ever wear gold nail polish loll ! 

My 0 is a bit dogded, I forgot to take pictures after i fixed it ! 

2 coats of OPI bring on the bling and the rest is acrylic paint 

I wish you all a very happy 2012 and hope it brings you lots of happiness and joy : )

NEW YEARS MANI

I was hit with inspiration today and decided to do this mani, often my ideas don't translate too well on the nail but today i was sooo pleased with how it turned out ! 

can you guess what it's supposed to be ? 

well in case you can't it's meant to be a firework setting off on the pointy finger and exploding on the accent nail and there's 2 people stood there watching ! 

it really looks like a firework here ! 

I painted the background black and sponged on opi mystic moonshine, opi last friday night, china glaze little drummer boy and something else (can't remember lol) and then i used gosh holographic to draw the firework and black acrylic paint for the people and i didn't seche vite this because it would have dulled the firework

Do you like it then ? I actually love this and am soo pleased it looks better than it did in my head loll !

2011 TOP 11 !

Ok, i wasn't planning on posting anything but after seeing everyone's amazing posts of their top (insert number) polishes for 2011 I decided I'd share my favourites with you too : )

well the original plan was to do my favourite polishes that were released this year, but i didn't get many polishes from the new collections this year, 2011 was the year officially became on to nail polish scene, i have always loved nail polish but i never knew about new collections and all these brands so i spent this year just catching up on old collections, so i'm going to show you my favourite nail polishes which i bought and used in 2011 which may have been released before but were still new to me ; ) 
I didn't have time to reswatch all these colours so some of them are from previous posts and others from the vault, that's why my nails may be different lengths in the pictures

GOSH - bubble gum

 ( omg! yes a pink made it in to the top 12!) i really do like this colour, it applies so well and look at that shine !

NO7 - Poolside Blue 

i have raved about this soo much all year i don't need to say anything again (for some reason every picture i take of this is baaad!)

Illamasqua - Raindrops

I loveee it so soft and gorgeous and the little flecks, oh beautiful : )

China Glaze - 2nite

 One of the most holoey holo's i have and the blue colour of it is absolutely gorgeous (i didn't reswatch this because there wasn't any sun to show off it's true gorgeousness !)

One I've only acquired recently but the minute i put it on it shot straight up to the top 10!

OPI - Opening night gold 

this picture isn't the best, this was the first holo i photographed and it was hard loll, i will reswatch this again soon, and this is my favourite layering holo too (you can see the post here to see what it looks like layered )

Most definitely my favourite polish of the whole year, i have worn this sooo many times and really didn't expect to love this as much as i did  !

GLITTERIFIC

This may be my last post for a while now, there's less than a month till my exams and i have soo much work to do and this is my last last chance so i can't mess up ! if i do have a bit of time i might show you some nails but honestly it's all to do with how much free time i get! 


anyway this is a glitterific mani, for this i used a 2 coats of opi dating and royal topped with one thin coat of opi excuse moi (which is my new favourite polish!) and finally topped with one coat of opi i lilly love you 

then i mattified it all (who can resist matte glitter? )

beautiful right? 

ooops, almost forgot, if i don't talk to you ladies before xmas, i hope you all have a lovely xmas and a happy new year : ) xx

SNOW GLOBE ( THE POLISH THIS TIME ; )

Yep , i finally decided what colour to put this over and i think i like it ! 
(ooops i almost forgot the base colour is la femme ice blue cream )

yes i know this first picture is blurry but it looks like scales ! 

when it looks like this, it is truly one of the most beautiful nail polishes ever

but this is the only time i don't like how it looks !

i know these posts are shorts but it's better than nothing right?

ZOYA VERUSCHKA !!! (FESTIFIED)

OK, i was just doing some horrible ph calculations for revision and i just had to show you this mani so i jumped up and made this post for you because i couldn't wait to show you this  ; ) 

YAAAY, i was so happy to get this, this was one of my biggest lemmings for agesssssss ! and i'm so happy i finally own this and yes it is even better than i'd imagined : ) 

anyway i had this on the other day, but decided to make the mani a bit more festive ... 

first this is what it looks like alone : ) so gorgeous ! these pictures were taken on the 2nd day so it's not as matte as it should be 

look at that shimmer !

then i added a matte topcoat ! 

then i drew on some of these wierd glittery stripes in colour club ruby slippers

and then i used a gold art deco striper brush to draw on some golden stripes too : )

 

i love the contrast of the glitter and matte here : )

hope you like it, ok back to the desk again (i've got a long night ahead of me *sigh*)
