PINK SWIRLS

Hi guys, hope your all well :)
I wasn't sure if I should post this or not; I liked the pattern but didn't like the mani overall so it's a bit of a fail in my books, but hey blogging is not all about your successes right?
Anywho for this mani I started off with 2 coats of China Glaze Great Barrier Beige and then used pink acrylic paint to paint on the detail, this is where it kind of went all wrong. The acrylic paint wasn't pigmented enough and I had to go over it 3 times which left it looking patchy and untidy.

I think I'll try this pattern out again but using different materials and hopefully it'll work out much better.
What do you guys think about this one then and do you agree with posting your failures as well as your successes?

RAINBOW IKAT PRINT NAILS

Another Ikat print design for you today. This time I went for a rainbow theme, I did enough 'spots' for each colour of the rainbow!
I started off with 2 coats of China Glaze Down Under Dusk and then just drew on the print which I showed you how to do here! Simples!

Anways I hope your enjoying your four day weekend, and I'll see you guys in my next post! Ps. there's something exciting coming up for you all soon so keep your eyes peeled for that ;)

NEON ON NUDE IKAT PRINT NAILS

I decided to do another ikat print mani, I had Kayla Shevonne's colour scheme (which she used in this mani) in mind when I sat down to do these nails so for this I used China Glaze Great Barrier Beige as my base colour (It's now my go to nude colour, really pretty with subtle shimmer). Then I used China Glaze Pool Party (which isn't as pink as it looks in the photo's), black and white acrylic paint and a striper brush to draw on the details. If you want to recreate this print you can find my tutorial here

Can you believe this my first time doing a nude n' neon combination?! I love it so I'll have to use these colours again, are you a fan of the nude n' neon trend?

HITS MARI MOON CHAMELEON

Happy Monday!
So today is just a plain swatch of an amazing multichrome polish. I actually wore this for my holidays so I quickly snapped these pictures before leaving for the airport.
Anywho I layered one (thickish) coat over 2 coats of Color Club  Artsy Crafty. I don't even know what to say about this polish because it is truly truly gorgeous and I don't believe I'll do it justice by talking about it so  I'll leave you with a tonne of pictures. Enjoy!

Well there you go, what do you think? Are you a fan of multichromes?

GLEQUIN TIPS

Hi guys, how are you all doing?
I'm just enjoying a hot cup of tea whilst watching The Proposal (awesome movie!) The weather here has been crazy the past few days, we've had so much snow and it's been so cold! We had a snow day on Friday so I've spent the weekend with my family watching movies and wrapping up warm! How's your weekend been?
Anywho onto nail matters, as I've mentioned previously I am on a glequin kick and the most common comment I get about my glequin manis is how some of you don't have the patience or time to sit and glequify the whole nail. So I created this mani with you guys in mind, it's uber simple and quick to do, instead of applying glequins to the whole nail you can just apply them to the tips and it's still shiny and awesome looking.
For these nails I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze Elephant Walk and then applied some topcoat to the tips and applied 2 rows of glequins at the tips and sealed it all in with a layer of topcoat!

Oh also as you can see I've started watermarking my photo's now I think it looks ok, but there is room for improvement, let me know what you think, it's not too distracting or anything like that for you guys?

Anyways I hope you guys give this a try, if you do leave me a link in the comments so I can check it out.
Ok then till next time :)

HALF MOONS WITH HOLO & GLEQUINS

I am super tired right now but I'm excited to show you this mani !
For this I started off with 2 coats of Kiko 339, which is a gorgeous nude holo polish , then I applied the blue glequins in a half moon shape on all the nails except the accent nail where I reversed it and topped it all of with topcoat (which didn't dull the holo :) ! As you can imagine it was supper blingy and shiny !
Oh and I managed to drop the whole pot onto the floor ! I did save about a third of the pot but cleaning them up was a pain!

When I took this off I was super annoyed, why? Because the blue glequins had stained my nails really badly, I had basecoat on too which is why I was annoyed and confused, so I've not used them again

MINTY GLEQUIN GRADIENT

Hi all my beautiful friends, how are you all?
So today I have another springy mani for you which is actually a big fat fail ! The glequins were supposed to look like a gradient fading from silver into pink, it didn't really work ! It still kinda looks pretty from a distance, so erm please don't ask me why I included a big macro shot of the glequined nail !

I started off with 2 coats of a minty green Color Club I got in a set from TK Maxx (I don't know the name if you guys have an idea please let me know in the comments) then just applied the silver and pale pink glequins and topped it all with a nice thick coat of  NYC Turbo Dry Topcoat !

Gosh, I've applied these rather sloppily !

So there you go, looking at these pictures is just making me wish spring would hurry up and make an appearance !
Take care guys, see you in my next post!

SPRING FLOWER GLEQUIN NAILS

Hi guys, I'm still obsessed with glequins but when I did these nails I didn't have a patience to do my whole nail so I decided to create these simple, cute flowers which totally remind me of spring  !
I started off with 2 coats of Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau (which I really really love) Then I just applied a dot of topcoat where I wanted to apply the glequins. I used the pale green and the pale pink glequins from the Born Pretty Store set !

My placement isn't perfect but these are so darn shiny in real life you really can't tell at all!

It looked really awesome in real life, the colours worked so well together! Do you like it? The weathers been so pants here recently so these nails make me a feel a little closer to spring ! Lol ! What's the weather like where you are?

BAPTISTE WITH SOME NAIL ARMOUR

I feel like I'm coming down with the flu, I really hope it'll pass tonight and I'll be alright in the morning !
Anyways, I hope you guys are enjoying your weekend, I've just been painting swatch sticks and making displays today but I'm going to be see my bestie tomorrow, I haven't seen her in months ! What are you guys up to?
Ok  so for these nails I was inspired by Sarah's mani! I don't have any round studs (yet ;P) so I used my square ones, I applied the studs just like you do with glequins, I cut some of the studs in half with regular scissors to fill in the gaps at the edges ! I didn't use a base colour with the accent nail and the studs don't line up exactly with the edge of the nail but oh well !
This looks pretty hardcore to be honest ;P I'm not a fan of textured nails at all but these felt so cool, I spent the whole day running my finger over the nail and stroking my cheek ! Lol

So what do you think? Would you wear something like this ?
